About
in a nutshell
Born in Seattle and raised in Southeast Asia, I am an independent writer and director. My first feature film, "Knots: A Forced Marriage Story” is an award-winning documentary about forced and child marriage in the U.S. It's also the subject of my TEDx Talk.
I am also a published author, short story writer, and essayist, and have collaborated on several art and media projects, including performing a non-fiction written piece for WordTheatre in London. I graduated from Florida State University Film School, and have lived and worked around the world. I’m passionate about feminist horror, languages, and French Malbec.
